Bio

s5001845-1_editedAlmost every bio on an author’s website states from a young age they wanted to write. I’m no different, but the way I see it my road could have easily taken two paths. In the third (or second) grade we had a writing assignment. Each student needed to write a story that included pictures. My classmates had stories about their family, or family pets or some other adventure. I wrote about a ghost town. It was 18 pages long. Overachiever, anyone? But, years later, and since this is my bio,  I will claim that I’d always known I would be a writer.

Though it wasn’t until 2004 that I sat down to write the Great American Novel on my Smith-Corona typewriter. I sold my second novel, How Much You Want to Bet?, to The Wild Rose Press in 2007. My fifth, See Megan Run, in 2008, and I’m still writing. Thankfully, I’ve upgraded to a computer. My children are well aware of the death and fire rule. I get to eavesdrop for a living. Just because it’s a cliché I do at times work in my P.J.s, but I don’t eat Bon-Bons.

So, yeah, the path I took wasn’t the one marked for an overachiever.

Thank God.
